TRACE Corps Deploys 400 Operatives and 25 Patrol Vehicles for Eid-El -Fitri Celebration
Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, has commenced operation “SAFETY ON OGUN TRAFFIC CORRIDOR” throughout the state with the deployment of 400 operatives, 25 patrol vehicles and 20 tow trucks through the Hired Tow Operators (HTO), to cover the state traffic strip prior, during and after the Eid-El-Fitri Celebration.
According to a release from the office of the TRACE Corps Commander/Chief Executive, Cdr. ‘Seni Ogunyemi, the operation which commenced on Friday, 31st May, 2019, would last through Saturday, 8th June, 2019. The release stated that the exercise is to ensure effective traffic management in all the nooks and crannies of the state, especially at diversion points between the 5km stretch from Sancrete-Fidiwo, around Alapako-Ogunmakin and Lotto axis of Mowe, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the Old Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway at Owode-Ijako, where road re-construction is on-going, timely clearance of obstructions, prompt rescue/emergency service and collaboration with other sister/security agencies.
The exercise would also involve all road users through the TRACE Traffic Whistle Blower Initiative, TRACE Emergency Traffic Service (TETS), as well as, it’s Community Based Traffic Management Scheme, which seeks to incorporate the general public, particularly the motoring public into the Safety Drive because safety on our road is a collective responsibility.
The release further urge all TRACE Corps operatives to be humane, civil and exhibit a high level of professionalism in the discharge of their duty.
While felicitating with Muslim faithfuls on the occasion of Eid-El-Fitri, Cdr Ogunyemi admonish them to reflect on the reason for the season and be safety conscious, as well as, ensure strict compliance to traffic rules and regulations, as any vehicle contravened for any traffic infraction(s) during the celebration would not be released until Monday, 10th June, 2019, when the Corps would have ended her Eid-El-Fitri Special Operation Order.
