The Bishop of Egba Diocese, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Oludaisi Adekunle, on Sunday admonished me the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, MFR, to run an effective government that will cater for the needs of our people, radically transform the education sector, show empathy to retirees, and walk my talk by being fair, just, equitable and inclusive.
The Cleric gave the advice to the successful entrepreneur and oil magnate – turned politician during the post -inauguration thanksgiving church service at the Cathedral of St. Peters’ Anglican Church, Ake, Abeokuta, before leading the congregation to pray for the success of Abiodun’s government in the state.
The Ogun State Governor who read the first Bible passage from the book of 1st Kings 3:3-15, was joined by family, friends, political associates and the good people of Ogun State.
In his short address to the congregation, Abiodun reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to complete all pending projects left behind by the previous government. He clarified that the decision was borne out of the fact that tax payers’ money had been deployed towards those projects and they must be duly completed for the overall benefit of everyone.
He also assured the gathering that his administration will give rural, township and industrial roads a priority attention with the revival of the defunct Public Works Department – PWD to be known as OGROMA.
In addition, he stated that his government shall pursue an educational turn-around of the state. He further made it known, his administration plan to conduct an Education Summit as well as develop a robust education master plan that will address the decadence in the sector and return the state to its enviable position.
