Teachers’ Welfare Remains Top Priority-OGSG

Ogun State Government has assured teachers in the State of its commitment to continue to place high premium on their welfare, including training, to enable them be more productive and proactive in the discharge of their duties.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Alhaji Sefiu Rasheed, stated this at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, while receiving the State representatives and the awards won at the South West Franco Phonic competition for secondary schools in Ibadan.

 

According to him, ‘’the feat recorded by the students did not come as a surprise, as the State had always been known for recording first in various fields of human endeavours. Our State has always been at the front burner in the scheme of things in the country. Our fore bearers have bequeathed us this feat and we are bound to build on it’’.

He called on both teachers and students to brace up for the national competitions which he noted would come up very soon.

In his welcome address, Director, Education Support Services, Mr. Martins Akinsolu, stressed the importance of French as a language, adding that, apart from the fact that the language was made compulsory at junior secondary school level, ‘’it is also the second official language in the country’’.
