We are sustaining Excellence in Education-Mujota

 

Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Modupe Mujota says that the State has continued to uphold the excellence it is known for in all human endeavours, particularly in education.

  The Commissioner while receiving the third place certificate from students of Baptist Boys High School (Senior public), who represented the State at the just concluded Beyond School Community Challenge Competition in Abuja, attributed the outstanding performance by the State to its leading position in the country.

  Applauding the Winners for doing the State proud, Mujota, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Alhaji Sefiu Rasheed, challenged them to continue to be good ambassadors and put in their best to attain the feats of some foremost citizens of the State.

  She enjoined the students not to be complacent but strive to aim higher for the first position in future outings, saying icons like Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Prof. Adebayo Adedeji, Prof. Wole Soyinka, Prof. Olusola Solesi, Sir Simeon Adebo, and Chief (Mrs.) Olufunmilayo Ransome Kuti, were first in their chosen careers and had made the nation proud.

  Commending the school Principal, Mr. Olanrewaju Adekunle and the students’ Supervisor, Mr. Lekan Adeeko, for a job well done, the Commissioner pledged government’s continued support for such students towards winning more unprecedented laurels for the State, emphasizing that ‘’ the reward for hard work is more work’’.

   Earlier, the State Director of Education, Support Services, Mr. Martins Akinsolu informed that the competition was a National Community Development and Entrepreneurship Programme for Secondary School Students, aimed at engaging them to create community development projects, showcase their talents and create impact within their communities .
