BUCODEL Technological Hub Graduates Second Cohort

… BUCODEL Star Graduand, Ogunbona won Best Student Award in Data Analysis

The Babcock University Centre for Open Distance and e – learning (BUCODeL) has graduated successful 31 Students from various courses as her Second Cohort. The second cohort graduated from different tech – courses which include Digital Marketing, Graphics Design, WordPress Web Design, E – Commerce Dev, Data Analysis, UI/UX Design, Front – end Dev., Back – end Dev., and Full Stack Dev.

In her welcome address, the Director Babcock University Centre for Open Distance and e-learning (BUCODeL), Prof Mobolanle Sotunsa charged everyone to be digital literate to make use of technology to solve problems. She also urged the graduands to make use of the knowledge acquired and not to stop learning. “Tech hub is for everyone because knowledge is for everyone. Since Technology is relevant to all disciplines, everybody needs to use existing and upcoming digital tools in their daily tasks.”, Sotunsa said.

In his own separate message, Senior Vice President, and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) of Babcock University, Prof Philemon Amanze noted that everything that has advantages has disadvantages. He highlighted the advantages of Tech hub which includes reduction in cost of production, improvement in brand recognition and values, easier communication, cheaper cost of manufacturing. He also enumerated the disadvantages of Tech hub as loss of jobs, loneliness, and depression. He however charged the graduands to dwell more on the advantages.

Highlight of the graduation ceremony was the presentation of awards to those that distinguished themselves in various tech -hub courses and scholarship award to the best students in each course.

The Head of Local Government Administration at Ikenne Local Government of Ogun State, Engr. Olanike Ogunbona, FNSE was awarded the Best graduating student in Data Analysis and Star graduand for the Second Cohort of BUCODEL Technological hub based on her exceptional performance. In addition, Ogunbona got Mr. Dare Akinwunmi’s scholarship on IT (Data Anaysis) and Scholarship award for project management courses which will be fully sponsored by Microsoft.

In her vote of thanks, the star graduand, Ogunbona admonished her colleagues to continue on improving on knowledge gained at the hub. In attendance at the graduation ceremony were Chief of Staff to the/President Vice-Chancellor, Babcock University Prof David Alao and Founder & CEO Massive Online Seventh-day Adventist Courses (MOSDAC – US), Ademir Soares.
