Ogun Student Emerges First At National Essay Writing Competiion

Ogun State Government’s huge investment in Education has continued to yield positive result as another indigene student won first position for South-West Zone at the National essay writing competition.

The winner, Miss. Hassanat Kuku, of Ijebu Mushin College (Snr.), Ijebu-Ode, who had represented the South-West Zone, won the trophy at the competition organised by All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), in Akure.

Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Modupe Mujota, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Alhaji Sefiu Rasheed, while receiving Miss. Hassanat Kuku, noted that the present administration had always ensured an enabling environment in the education sector which results in the outstanding performances of the State students in National competitions.

She enjoined Hassanat Kuku not to relent in her efforts and drive to maintain the top position in her studies and future competitions.

Earlier in his address, the State ANCOPSS President, Chief Ebenezer Ogundele, appreciated the Honourable Commissioner for her constant challenges and constructive criticisms to the Association, which according to him, serve as a wakeup call for them at all times.

He also applauded the State representative for scoring 24 out of 25 possible points examined by West African Examination Council (WAEC) officials to emerge first.

Present at the presentation ceremony were Directors of the Ministry, some State ANCOPSS Executive Council members and parents of the student.
