NSE Abeokuta, APBN Ogun Mourns 17th Ogun HoS, Engr. Lanrewaju Bisiriyu, FNSE, FNIM

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Abeokuta branch has joined citizens of Ogun State in grief over the passing of former Ogun State Head of Civil Service, Engr. Olanrewaju Bisiryu, FNSE, FNIM who was the first and only Engineer to head Ogun State Civil Service.

The Chairman NSE Abeokuta, Engr. Ismail Adetunji Adenuga, in a statement by the branch General Secretary, Engr. Dr. Grace Amusan in Abeokuta on Tuesday condoled with family members, friends, engineering family, Nigerian Institute of management, other professional bodies and Ogun State at large where the deceased played a prominent role.

According to the Branch Chairman, Bisiriyu was a trailblazer, an inspiration, and a mentor par excellence. “Always ready with a friendly smile, we at Abeokuta Branch of NSE particularly hold Engr. Bisiriyu dear to our heart, for he was appointed the 1st Engineer Head of Civil Service in Ogun State”, Adenuga said.

May Allah forgive him, admit his soul into Jannatu Firdause and grant his immediate family and indeed the entire engineering family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Adenuga implored the branch, the entire engineering family and Ogun State Citizens to find solace in his good works and ensure that his legacies are carried on.

In a similar development, the Chairman Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) Ogun State, Mrs. Gladys Odugbemi, FCA, FCTI has commiserated with the entire Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Abeokuta, Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) Ogun State and entire professionals in Ogun State on the sudden death of the highly revered, 17th Ogun State Head of Service, Engr. Isiaq Olanrewaju Bisiriyu, FNSE, FNIM who passed on early hours of Tuesday 25th October, 2022 in Lagos.

In the statement released by Odugbemi, Bisiriyu’s humility and maturity will be sorely missed. She urged professional members to always project legacies of putting the State and Country first, just like Bisiriyu

Odugbemi prayed that the almighty God would receive the soul of the departed and comfort his family.

Engr. Bisiriyu, a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) joined the Ogun State Civil Service as a Pupil Engineer with the State Water Corporation in August, 1985. He rose through the ranks and was appointed a Permanent Secretary in January, 2012. He was the Permanent Secretary/Clerk of the State House of Assembly and the Head of Ogun State Civil Service on 3rd January, 2019.

The 17th Ogun State Head of Service holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ibadan in 1984 and later obtained Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the then University of Ado – Ekiti (now Ekiti State University) in 2001.

A Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) certified Engineer, Bisiriyu was a recipient of the 2018 Chris Abebe award of the Nigerian Institute of Management, former South West Zonal Chairman and Council member of the Nigerian Institute of Management.

An indigene of Orile – Keesi in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State. Engr. Bisiriyu was a member Board of Trustee (BOT) Ansar Ud Deen Summit University, Offa, Kwara State.
