ICEPT LOC Visits Ogun NSCDC

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the 18th International Conference and Exhibition on Power and Telecommunications (ICEPT), Abeokuta 2022 paid a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Command of Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).

The Ogun State Commandant NSCDC, Cmdr Niyi L. Ajibola appreciated NIEEE Abeokuta for the professional development and welfare of her members which resulted in their 1st prize position as the 2021 Best Chapter of NIEEE. “The impact of your professionalism can be clearly noticed in one of your members, our own Senior Officer in charge of ICT whom has been discharging his duties effectively to meet the aim of the command”, Ajibola said.

As we look forward to areas of partnership between us including ICT, let me assure you that we will support your programmes, most especially on the upcoming ICEPT in October, Ajibola concluded.

Earlier in his remarks, the LOC Chairman and Chairman Abeokuta Chapter of Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), Engr. Olumayowa Idowu, FNIEEE appreciated the giant strides recorded by NSCDC in proving measures against threat and all other forms of attack or disaster against the state, in particular telecommunication infrastructure protection.

“As you aware that the use of modern technology in security cannot be overemphasized, we are willing and ready to be a partner to achieve your mission in developing structures and training strategies that would contribute to the national security with the use of modern technology”, Idowu said.

The LOC Chairman also informed the State Commandant NSCDC on the upcoming International conference of NIEEE and requested for security assistance for the conference.  ICEPT has been an annual flagship event of NIEEE. The conference offers professional solutions to prevailing issues as a product of knowledge sharing among members. This convergence of industry, academia, government and regulatory experts is traditionally graced by top government dignitaries and industry giants. The Abeokuta Chapter of NIEEE will be hosting the 18th ICEPT at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library between 10th – 14th October, 2022
