COVID – 19: Ogun – Oshun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA) Donates to Ogun Government

The Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority has donated it’s Agricultural and Water products as Relief items to mitigate the effects of on-going lock down to the Government of Ogun State.
Presenting the relief items to the Deputy Governor of the  State,  Engr.  (Mrs)  Noimot Salako-Oyedele at her office,  the Managing  Director /CEO, Olufemi Odumosu said the Authority being a socially responsible public organization took the initiative in response to the clarion call of President  Muhammad Buhari, GCFR and Governor Dapo Abiodun, MFR to support Federal and State Government’s efforts at this  difficult time.
He said it is with great honour for the Authority,  a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources under the able leadership of the Hon. Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman H.  Adamu, FNSE, FAENg. to make the donation, which he said includes: 200 crates of eggs, already packed into 1,000 packs of six eggs each, 1,000 bags of O-ORBDA Drinking water (20,000 sachets),  100 cartoons of O-ORBDA Table Water (1,200 Nos 75cl bottle)  and 50 bags of 5kg O-ORBDA refined Gari products.
Odumosu also assured the Deputy Governor of the  Authority’s preparedness to provide emergency water supply in areas considered most vulnerable and in designated isolation  centres in the  state by drilling of boreholes.
The Managing Director who commended Governor Dapo Abiodun, his team and the medical personnel in the front line of the ailments care and other stakeholders in the country at large, said the Authority is exploring measures to extend the gesture to other State Governments in Osun, Oyo and Lagos covered by the activities of the Authority.
In her response, the Deputy Governor, Engr (Mrs)  Salako-Oyedele on behalf of the Governor thanked the Authority for the donation. She said Ogun State as neighbour of Lagos State where the scourge is rampant has put in measures to prevent the spread of the virus in the State.
While urging the people of the State not to see the lock down as a joke or punishment, but as a means of ensuring their safety, she assured  citizens of the State especially the vulnerables  of the State’s preparedness to cater for them.
The Deputy Governor who said  the donation was timely, also seized the occassion to appreciate other organizations that have made materials and cash donations to the State.
