COVID – 19: Governor Oyetola Commends Ogun – Oshun River Basin Development Authority

  

It was the turn of the State of Osun on Thursday 23rd April, 2020 to receive products of Ogun -Oshun RBDA as Relief Materials to mitigate against the on going lock down on COVID -19 in the State.

Presenting the products to the Governor of the State, H.E. Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, who was represented by the Hon. Commissioner of Commerce and Industry in the State, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun at Osogbo, the Managing Director/CEO, Olufemi  Odumosu said the Authority embarked on the exercise in order to assist the vulnerables and the less privileged in the 4 States of Ogun, Osun, Oyo and Lagos covered by the activities of the Authority.

This he said was as a result of call by H.E. President Muhammadu Buhari  GCFR and Governor  Gboyega Oyetola on well-meaning Nigerian, Societies and Organizations to assist both the Federal and State Governments in the fight against the scourge.

Odumosu thanked the Hon. Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Adamu, FNSE, FAENg, for supporting the Authority since the beginning of the donations across the States.

He reiterated the determination of the Authority to drill boreholes in vulnerable communities and designated Isolation Centres that may be required by the State.

He commended HE Governor Oyetola and his team for their tireless efforts at combating the scourge which has significantly reduced the number of infected persons in the State.

The Managing Director also lauded the Medical personnel and other Health Workers at the forefront of fighting the menace. He said their heroic efforts will forever be remembered.

In his response after receiving the Palliative products, the Hon. Commissioner, Dr Bode Olaonipekun, gives kudos to the Authority for coming forward to assist the State at this difficult time.

He said the Authority’s gesture was as a result of profitable relationship that has existed between the State and the Authority since inception of the Administration.

The Commissioner, on behalf of the Governor and people of the State commend the Authority and prayed for a more robust relationship that will continue to benefit the State and the Authority at large.

Relief materials donated to the State include: 200 crates of eggs, 200 cartoons of 75cl table water and 50 bags of 5kg refined garri all produced by the Authority.

Also present at the occasion is the S.A. on Water to the Governor, Engr. Adeniran Ibitoye (Kilomodemo) and Directors of the Authority.
