OGSG Commiserates With Adedeji’s Family

Ogun Government has commiserated with Adedeji family and the people of Ijebuland on the death of former Under Secretary General to the United Nations, Professor Adebayo Adedeji, who died on  April 25, 2018 at the age of 87.

          The Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga  who led the State delegation on a condolence visit to the Ijebu-Ode residence of the deceased, described him as an economist of repute whose contributions to economic growth in Africa remained indelible in the history of Economic Commission of Africa (ECA).

Onanuga added that Prof. Adedeji was a man of honour, considering his impact to the economic growth and development of Ijebuland, Nigeria and Africa in general.

She prayed that God should grant him eternal rest and the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.

Responding on behalf of the family, one of the children of the deceased, Mr. Adedoyin Adedeji, thanked the State government for standing by the family during this trying period.
