Agriculture: Ogun Reassures Stakeholders 0f More Support

 

The Ogun State Government has reassured stakeholders of agricultural produce of its continued support to engender more development in the sector.

The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mrs.  Adepeju Adebajo, gave the assurance at a-day stakeholders’ meeting for effective collaboration towards sustainable agricultural produce development, held at Providence Event Centre, Abeokuta.

Represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture, Mr. Akinola Lawson, Adebajo said it was imperative for stakeholders to synergize on ways to promote the development of agriculture business.

“Today marks another milestone for big players in the agricultural produce sub-sectors to come to rub minds on ways of promoting development of the agric business in the State. This is a clear demonstration of the unalloyed commitment towards increase of agricultural production and industrialisation in the State.

‘’Government is mindful of the various challenges faced by the different companies operating in the State and finding solutions to these challenges is why this meeting is being arranged.  On our part as policy makers, we promise to give you the required support and assistance from time to time”, Adebajo said.

Speaking, the Director of Produce Services, Mr.  Olufunmilayo Kushimo, appreciated the stakeholders for cooperating with the State government in the production of food and promotion of Afro based industries, urging companies to do the needful by registering and certifying their produce.

Earlier, the representative of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Engr. Ayo Oseni commended stakeholders for ensuring harmony, advocating for more improvement in the development of agricultural produce in the State.
