Town Hall Meeting Is A Platform Of Assessing State Policy- Amosun

The Ogun State Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun has described the State budget town hall meeting as a platform where people express their minds, examine state policies and suggest new ideas for effective running of the state affairs.

Amosun who made this known at the 2018 budget town hall meeting at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta, said the opinions of the people were germane in budget planning of the state towards successful implementation of its policies.

“The Town Hall Meeting is a genuine platform where all opinions are not only explored, but are critically examined for the growth and development of our dear State” Amosun remarked.

The Governor pointed out that people oriented budget had been the priority of his government since inception, adding that it has contributed immensely to the rebuilding mission.

He added that the State Development Plan (SDP) was initiated early this year and would run till 2030 as a critical element for agricultural production and industrialization, saying it would increase financial and technical support from development partners to boost agricultural production, reduce dependency on oil as well as strengthen good governance

Earlier, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Ms. Aderenle Adesina said the meeting was aimed at sensitizing members of the public on government plans for year 2018 budget and obtain their thoughts and contributions for inclusion into the budget, explaining that previous town hall meetings had added values to the administration’s performance.
