Ogun State Government has restated its commitment towards infrastructural development, just as it also promised to engage private companies for the reconstruction of the inter-city roads.
The Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, stated this in Abeokuta while receiving members of the Ahmadiya Muslim Society, who were on a courtesy visit to her office, saying, this administration was actively following up with the Federal Government on the executive order, which would give room for the private sector to reconstruct roads.
Engr. Salako-Oyedele, explained that the anticipated tax returns  would be used in offsetting the cost of  road reconstructed by private companies, adding that, Governor Abiodun has been working on how best to tackle the huge problem of bad roads across the State.

“We have had different ideas on how to tackle the inter-city roads, so we are going to construct it on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis. The executive order has been signed and we are hoping that it can be put into use very quickly and to facilitate private companies to come up with PPP agreement which will allow them to reconstruct the roads”, she said.
The Deputy Governor, added that the State Public Works Agency (PWA) has been rehabilitating and reconstructing some rural and township roads, lamenting that the weather has been the major challenge faced by the agency.
She assured that, as soon as the rain subsided, PWA would increase its pace of work, enjoining the citizens to bear with the State government as it execute its plans.
