Women Enjoined to embrace Active Politics


Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has admonished women to take active roles in politics, noting that their involvement would enhance rapid development, while they equally contribute to nation building.

The Deputy Governor gave the admonition while playing host to Nigeria League of Women Voters, Ogun State Branch led by its grand patron, Chief Iyabode Apampa in her office.

Engr. Salako-Oyedele urged the women to come together and be actively involved in politics at the ward’s level, as well as, join hands with the present administration in moving the State forward.


In her remark, the Grand Patron of the League, Chief Iyabode Apampa noted that the league comprised notable women across various fields and professions, calling on the men folks to involve women in nation building by carrying them along in governance.

Earlier in her address, the Chairperson of the group, Mrs. Oluyemisi Egbeyemi, while commending the government’s initiative of women inclusion in governance, solicited for the Deputy Governor’s support to encourage more women in future electioneering processes.

Highlight of the visit was the decoration of the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele as the Matron of the Nigeria League of Women Voters.
