Ogun Third Best In MSMEs Growth, Development In Nigeria- BOI

The Bank of Industry (BOI) has said that Ogun State has moved up to the third best position in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) growth and development amongst the 36 States of the federation.

The Bank Manager in the State, Mr. Babatunde Ajala, disclosed this while delivering his speech at the investiture of the State Commissioner for Forestry, Mr. Kolawole Lawal, as the 17th President of Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA), in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area of the State.

Ajala, who attributed the feat to the provision of adequate infrastructure and creation of conducive environment by the Governor Ibikunle Amosun led administration, said with this development, the future of SMSEs was bright in the State.

In his key note address, the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun reassured the people that his government would continue to provide necessary infrastructure and enabling environment to attract more foreign investors to the State.

The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga, expressed optimism that the new OGUNCCIMA President’s tenure would take the State economy to the next level, while praying that God would give the new executive the wisdom to lead the Association aright.

In their separate remarks, the National President, Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Iyalode Alaba Lawson and the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mrs. Adepeju Adebajo, said the new President was competent to handle the job, expressing the hope that his tenure would further boost the economy of the State.

In his acceptance speech, the newly inducted President, Mr. Kolawole Lawal, assured all industrialists in Ogun State that OGUNCCIMA under his watch, would work with relevant organizations and government’s agencies, to ensure that his two years tenure would build on the good foundation already laid by his predecessor.

His words, “my priority would be to put a frame work in place to ensure that we have at least 50 members in each of the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas of the State.

“Under my dispensation, I shall aggressively identify relevant government stakeholders, their policies and build a relationship with them. The prime objective of the association was to create a conducive atmosphere for the pursuit of commerce, industry and all other forms of economic activities in the interest of the private sectors’’, he said.
