Osokoya Lists Achievements of Association of Retired HoS, PS

The Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries have been described as the pillar behind the industrial harmony that exists between the State government and Industrial Unions in the State.

Chairman of the Association, Otunba Babatunde Osokoya, stated this while speaking during the 2nd Annual General Meeting of the body, held at the Valley View Auditorium, Abeokuta.

According to him, the association was maintaining closed links with relevant industrial unions in the State, disclosing that, during the last industrial dispute declared by the National Joint Council, it was the Association that brokered peace between government and labour.

Osokoya further revealed that, issues relating to payment of outstanding gratuities to members and securing the State government’s approval for pension parity with the emolument of serving Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries, resolutions of the issues with the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, and request for the payment of substantial amount to families of deceased members, amongst others, were resolved by the executives of the association.

He highlighted other achievements to include; the allocation of land by the State government for building of the association’s permanent secretariat, the architectural design, structural, electrical and mechanical drawings and the Environmental impact Assessment obtained and the submission to relevant government agency for final approval.

The Chairman disclosed that the Foundation and fund raising for the Secretariat, has been scheduled to hold in the first quarter of 2019.
