Ogun Poly Ipokia to commence Operation in May – Amosun

The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has assured that the State Polytechnic in Ipokia, will take off next month, as arrangements have been concluded to have the institution’s first matriculation ceremony.

Governor Amosun, who gave the assurance after inspecting construction work in the campus, said about 3000 students, who have completed all admission procedure, will be admitted as pioneer students of the school.

The Governor, accompanied by members of his cabinet and Permanent Secretaries, noted that the Polytechnic was one of the 20 legacy projects to be commissioned by President Buhari during his visit to the State next month.

“As soon as Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia commences operation, Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology (MAUSTECH), will also come on stream.  The master plan for the take off of the university is already in place’’, he said.

He noted that the take off of the institution would bring development to the area, calling on the people of the community to cooperate and accommodate students that would be admitted into the Polytechnic.

Speaking with newsmen in an interview, the Rector of the Institution, Dr. Adeola Odedina, expressed delight that the people of the community were ready to receive them, affirming that the institution would take off fully, as the management was ready to commence operation.

Highlighting some of the facilities already on ground, the Governor said, “we already have lecture theatres that can take 2500 students at a go, hostel facility, staff quarters, rectors residence among others, hence the polytechnic is more than ready for the take off”.
