Steer Clear of Politics, Ogun Speaker warns Workers.
The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo has tasked members of staff of the Assembly to be apolitical, remain dedicated to duty and be disciplined towards enhancing optimum performance and quality service delivery for the legislative arm of government.
Oluomo, who gave the charge during an interactive meeting with the management and staff of the Assembly, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, explained that it was important for workers to ensure strict adherence to Public Service rules and regulations, be apolitical and diligent, irrespective of their designation.
The Speaker promised that the ninth legislature under his leadership would prioritise their welfare and put in place, series of human capacity development programmes for all categories of staff, admonishing them to desist from acts inimical to their career.
“We will ensure that all categories of staff are trained, from the most senior to the messenger. We will also prioritize your welfare, while you should also reciprocate by being loyal to the system, punctual and remain diligent in your duties as Civil Servants”, the Speaker counselled.
He sought for more understanding and mutual working relationship, saying, workers must set standard of excellence for the promotion of good democratic ideals, assuring that information exchange through the use of Suggestion and Complaint Box would be put in place to aid feedback among the staff and the Assembly leadership.
