SSANIP Commends Abiodun For Restoring MAPOLY To Status Quo

The Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnics, SSANIP, has commended the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for restoring Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, to status quo.

The new National President of the union, Comrade Phillip Ogunsipe, gave the commendation, on Monday, during a ‘Thank You’ visit to the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr Samson Odedina.

Ogunsipe who until his emergence as the union President, was the Deputy Registrar, Establishment Unit II of the Polytechnic.

While lauding the state government for showing passion for polytechnic education, he urges the governor to give the union increased support.

“When MAPOLY was off, most of us the staff were agitated, not because of anything, but because we had more than it takes to exist. One of the first assignments of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun was the reinstatement and giving back life to MAPOLY. We are back. We are hopeful. We are marching on. We are grateful.”

“In Ogun State, we have six polytechnics we want to encourage the State government to give us more support, not just in terms of policies, but financially.
Education is not only a right, but it is also part of the social policy. The governor is taking off very well, but we want him to do more.”
