Sen. Odebiyi Presents Laptops, Motorcycles to Nigerian Red Cross to Aid Service Delivery

The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sen. Tolu Odebiyi has presented two (2) Laptops and two (2) Motorcycles to the Nigerian Red Cross, Ogun State branch, to help boost their service delivery in Ogun West District. The presentation was done on Monday, 15th March, 2021 at the Iboro residence of the Senator.
While presenting the Laptops and Motorcycles to the Ogun State Chairman of the Red Cross, Mr. Joseph Obalanlege, the Ogun West Senator said, he will continue to provide quality representation for his people, even as he requested for a comprehensive report and recommendation from the humanitarian organisation on how to tackle the situation of the displaced Ogun West indigenes who took refuge in Benin Republic as a result of the Herdsmen attack, for onward delivery to the Minister of Disaster Management and Humanitarian Affairs, as well as the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
Sen. Odebiyi also used the opportunity to appeal to the displaced people to be calm as the Federal Government is on top of the matter.
The Senator commended the organisation for building a strong national society that is responding to both conflicts and other emergencies, not only in Ogun State but Nigeria at large.
Earlier, while briefing the Senator, the State Chairman of Red Cross in Ogun State, Mr. Joseph Obalanlege called on the 3 tiers of Government as well as corporate bodies in the country to come to the aid of the displaced Nigerians who relocated to Benin Republic as a result of the Herdsmen attack.
The Red Cross boss said about 5,000 refugees are taking shelter in various Churches, Mosques and other public places in Egelu and Iganna communities of Benin Republic. He added that there is urgent need to provide emergency refugee camp in Yewa area of Ogun State in order to give the people proper attention and care they deserve.
Obalanlege urged Nigerians not to play politics with the issue but take proactive steps to protect lives and property of the people.
