Road Traffic Crash on the Ijebu Ode – Sagamu Expressway

ROAD TRAFFIC CRASH FROM FRSC ON THE IJEBU ODE – SAGAMU EXPRESSWAY ON THURSDAY 04 JULY 2019

At about 1032HRS on the Ijebu Ode – Sagamu Expressway a commercial bus plunged into the OSOSA RIVER
A total of 14 people comprising(5male adult and 9Female adult ) were involved in the fatal crash.
The people injured were 11 (5 male and 6 female)
A total of 3 people died in the crash made up of 01 Male and 02Female
The lone crash involved a yellow coloured MAZDA
E220 commercial bus
The suspected cause of the crash is mechanical deficiency with the bus that took off from Ijebu Ode Motor park for Lagos , but lost control and plugged into the Ososa River in Ijebu Ode
The injured victims were rescued to the General Hospital Ijebu Ode, and the corpses of the dead victims were deposited at the same Ijebu Ode General Hospital Mortuary.
Efforts are currently on going to remove the Mazda bus from the river.

The FRSC Sector Commander , Clement Oladele has commiserated with the families of the crash victims and advised vehicle operators to put their Vehicles in good condition before any trip and be cautious during the rainy season to avoid road traffic crashes.
