Press Release: 2020 Egba Anglican Diocesan Synod

The Diocese of Egba (Church of Nigeria) Anglican Communion has scheduled the 2nd Session of the 15th Synod to hold between Friday, 21st to Sunday, 23rd August, 2020 at Holy Trinity Church, Ikereku, Abeokuta and Silver Jubilee Multipurpose Hall, Bishopscourt, Onikolobo, Abeokuta.

In a Press release, the Synod Secretary, Venerable F.A.O. Adekunle said, the Synod which will be in total compliance with the government  regulations and guidelines on COVID-19, will be presided by the Diocesan Bishop and President of Synod, Rt. Rev. Dr. E. O. Adekunle. The theme for the 2020 Synod is “CHILDREN: THEIRS IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD”, taken from the book of Matthew 19: 13-15, Mark 10: 13-16 and Luke 18: 15-17.

On Friday 21st August, 2020, the Synod Opening Service shall be held at the Holy Trinity Church, Ikereku Abeokuta at 8.00am while the formal opening of Synod and launching of Presidential Charge will hold at the Multipurpose Hall, Bishopcourt, Onikolobo at 11.00am.

Also, Synod lecture“The Youths, Drugs, Substances Use and Abuse: Causes and Consequences” will hold same Friday.

Plenary Sessions of Synod, Synod Revival and Bible Study will hold on Saturday, 22nd August, 2020 at Multipurpose Hall, Bishopscourt, Onikolobo, Abeokuta starting from 8am

At Holy Trinity Church, Ikereku, Abeokuta on Sunday, 23rd August, 2020, the Synod will be climaxed with thanksgiving service which will be in four–fold : Egba Diocesan 44th Anniversary, Bishop Adekunle’s 11th Consecration Anniversary, Survival from Pandemic and Success of 2020 Synod.

All sessions of the Synod will be online for virtual participation of members. Members are enjoined to hook up to the Diocesan You tube Channel and Facebook Page for online participation.
