Police Arrest 14-Year Old Housemaid In Ogun For Abducting Her Mistress’s 2-Year Old Baby In Lagos

Ogun State Police Command says a 14-year old housemaid has been arrested by its men for abducting her Mistress’s 2-year old Son.

In a statement by the Command, the suspect was arrested following a complaint by a Samaritan who reported that she saw a 14-year old girl with a very sick 2-year old boy in Yaba, Lagos. She reported that the young girl was begging for alms under the pretence that the boy is her younger brother and that their parents had died in a ghastly accident in December last year.

The statement adds that out of compassion, the good Samaritan took both of them to her house in Sagamu, Ogun State to take good care of the little boy’s deteriorating health condition.

After the boy was fully recovered, the young girl insisted that she wanted to take the boy to Imo State singlehandedly and this aroused the woman’s suspicion and she decided to lodge the complaint at the Police.

The young girl confessed to the Police that she was employed as maid by the mother of the boy and that she left with the boy since Wednesday December 19, 2021 with intention to take the boy to Amraku Umorso in Isiala/Mberna local government area of Imo State. She explained further that she decided to beg for alms to raise transport fare to Imo State.

In the meantime, the State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole has ordered that the baby’s parents be contracted and the case be transferred to Lagos State command where the alleged crime was committed.
