Penpushing, Metropolitan Broadcasting Services takes another Leap on Partnership.

The Management of Metropolitan Broadcasting Services, owners of Impact Business Radio (IBR 92.5 F.M) and Impact Africa Television (IATV) on Friday met with the Editorial Board of Penpushing online Newspapers to further seal the partnership between the two organisations.
The Editorial Board on courtesy call arrived the Metropolitan Broadcasting Services headquarters, located at Impact House, Kolapo Ishola Estate,Akobo, Ibadan,Oyo State into the waiting arms of the management led by the founder and President, Deacon Owolabi Oladejo.
The management thereafter led the partnering team into the boardroom of the station, where discussions were held for over one hour,  focusing  majorly on how best to work on solid and beneficial relationship. The visitors were equally taken on a facility tour of the spacious station, which include the well-equipped newsroom, studios, conference halls as well as the language laboratory and communication training college.
Speaking during the meeting, founder of Metropolitan Broadcasting Services, Deacon Owolabi Oladejo said the management resolved to partner with Penpushing, because of its conviction that, it has being established as a credible media.
Oladejo added that within the last one year of Penpushing platform and few months’ of Penpushing online publication operations, the outlets had stoodout as reliable sources of authentic news globally.
‘We are proud to be associated with Penpushing, and we do not hesitate to team up as partner when the opportunity arose, and I can say that we at the Metropolitan Broadcasting Services will join Penpushing to redeem image of journalism, particularly at this era of internet’.
He disclosed that as part of the relationship, the school of language of the station will involve Penpushing on how best to improve journalists and journalism, adding that the school will serve as training centre for practising and upcoming journalists.
‘We have a School of Language and the best language laboratory in the country. We should be able to push the partnership forward. We have School of Communications. We will need you as our coming together will be beneficial.
Oladejo also recommended Thematic journalism, for better future of the profession and the society pointed out that, this will add value to the job, as well as the practitioners, stressing that, thematic journalism is the way to go, ’we need to move forward. Be sure, we are on a mission.
The Head of the Stations, Femi Mapaderun in his remarks gave insight on the operational system of the organisations, which he said was to set agenda and ensure dissemination of credible reports, adding that this competence had earned the stations the status of the best in Oyo State, within three months of take-off.
Mapaderun, also disclosed that, the founder of the establishment had never dictated or intervened in what should be the editorial content, emphasisng that, he (Oladejo) gave the editorial team the opportunity to operate based on its best judgment on news worth being used.
‘What we do is to set agenda and ensure dissemination of credible news and this has remained our policy and house style. Our founder has never dictated to us. At no time has he dictated editorial content to us’, he emphasized.
Earlier in his speech, founder of the partnering platform, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji gave insight into the journey of Penpushing, stating that, the aims and objectives are to ensure changing the phase of online media, with the influx of social media activities,, which were about to give different colouration to journalism.
Kayode-Adedeji, also emphasized the platform’s genuine desire to work in partnership, for the benefit of the two organisations, as well the betterment of the society, stressing that Penpushingwould not fail on its own part of the relationship.
He said, the platform also had among its 256 membership across the globe, a number of influential personalities like Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Chief Olusegun Osoba(former Governor), Otunba Gbenga Daniel(former Governor), Prof Oye Ibidapo-Obe(former Vice-Chancellor University of Lagos), Daniel Akintonde(former Military Administrator),Prof Idowu Sobola),Prof Tope Popoola, Fola Olamiti(veteran journalist),Prof Oluyemi Obilade(former VC,Tai Solaring University of Education,Ijebu-Ode) and Kayode Olofinmoyin(former Military Administrator).

 The Chairman, Editorial Board of Penpushing, Funke Fadugba who is also former Chairman Lagos NUJ, in her own contribution said, she was of the conviction that the partnership had come to stay, in view of the genuineness of the two organizations to encourage credibility of news.
‘I am convinced that Metropolitan Broadcasting Services and Penpushing are on the same page on reporting and disseminating authentic news globally. It is so glaring looking back at the organizations’ antecedents since their operations started till date’, Fadugba stressed.
