Ogun TRACE floats new command

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), has opened a new divisional command in Mile 2/Rounder axis of Lafenwa, Abeokuta, to complement the efforts of the traffic agency towards ensuring sanity in the zone.

The Corps Commander/Chief Executive, Cdr. ‘Seni Ogunyemi, who disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists in Abeokuta, charged officers in the new division to remain loyal, diligent and avoid causing infractions that could tarnish the image of the Corps and that of the State.

He also advised the division to embark on massive public enlightenment and advocacy measures to correct pedestrians, motorcycle riders and drivers against contraventions, such as over-speeding and overloading

“TRACE, no doubt, has become a household name in traffic management in Nigeria. Our influence on the motoring public has changed the driving culture in Ogun State. With this in mind, it is important to extend our tentacles to the Mile2/Rounder area of the State capital, to ease traffic congestions and bring sanity to that axis. It is my belief that traffic bottlenecks in that area will reduce drastically’’, Ogunyemi said.

In a separate interview, the new Divisional Commander, Cdr. Gbenga Aderibigbe, noted that his new posting was a call to duty and service to humanity, promising that he and his men would discharge their duties diligently.

He reiterated that the new division would intensify efforts on public enlightenment programmes to the motoring public in the area, ensure strict compliance to traffic rules and regulations and collaborate with other sister agencies towards ensuring safety on the roads.
