Ogun people must reject moneybags politicians in 2019 ―GNI

A two-time governorship candidate in Ogun State, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, has called on all eligible voters to reject moneybags politicians with inordinate ambitions in the 2019 general election in the state.

Just as he said that he would recontest for the exalted seat and win convincingly to serve the people

He said this in an address he delivered at a one-day Public Dialogue and Empowerment Programme, organised by the The Believe Movement (TBM), held at the Ake Palace Ground, on Tuesday.

Isiaka, who is the Promoter of TBM, advised the people of the state to be wary of candidates with no track record and programmes that would affect the lives of the people positively.

“Our people must be vigilant on the identity, character, and antecedent of who is running for office. In the face of this broken political system, the people must learn to reject inducements while exercising their voting rights.

“Moneybags with inordinate ambition must be rejected in favour of candidates with track record and programmes that directly affects their social and economic needs.

“Ogun State is not for the highest bidder, jt is not for expanding personal political fiefdoms, it is not available for those who don’t know the needs of the people; and at the right time, Ogun people will choose a leader they know and believe in,” he said.

He promised to attract key partners into the Ogun Project for sustainable development if elected into office.

GNI as fondly called in the political circle promised good governance with integrity, courage and strong leadership that would placed the state on the path of peace, opportunity, equity and prosperity.

He added, “I am in the 2019 governorship race and more determined this time around to contest and win convincingly. The leadership I hope to provide from 2019 will encourage the thriving, support the striving and take care of the weak.”

The keynote speaker, Dr Reuben Abati, who spoke on the theme: “Enhancing the social contract through values-driven governance”, said Nigeria has lost out in terms of values.

He commended The Believe Movement for promoting government that would be value driven.
