Ogun – Oshun RBDA to Drill Boreholes in Lagos State Vulnerable Communities/Isolation Centre

The Management of Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority has pledged to drill boreholes in some vulnerable communities and Isolation Centres in Lagos State.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of O-ORBDA, Olufemi Odumosu disclosed this on Thursday, 30th April, 2020, in Lagos while presenting Relief materials to the Lagos State Government in order to cushion the effects of the lockdown in the State.
Odumosu stated that, the boreholes would assist Residents in the vulnerable Communities to get access to water in order to ensure proper hygienic practices.
The MD stressed that, the Authority  heeded  the call of President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR and the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu in preventing the spread of Covid-19 by the donation.
The Relief materials donated include 200 crates of Eggs, 200 cartoons of bottled water and 100 packs of 5kg Garri all produced by the Authority.
He specially commended Governor Sanwo-Olu and his Covid-19 team for their heroic efforts at combating the spread of the pandemic in the State.
Odumosu also expressed appreciation to the Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Adamu FNSE, FAENg for being an inspirational role model in the Ministry and it’s Agencies .
In his remarks, the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended the management of the Authority for their pledged to construct boreholes in vulnerable Communities in the State, and for the donation of Relief materials to the State.
Sanwo-Olu also appreciated the Authority for the previous drilling of boreholes constructed in different parts of the State for providing water supply to the Communities.
The Governor described the Authority’s gesture as commendable in this pandemic period.
Sanwo-Olu who was represented by his Special Adviser on Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya called on other Public and Private organizations to support the State government in its effort at preventing the spread of Covid-19 in the State.
She assured that the donated Relief materials would be distributed to only the vulnerable people  in the State.
She however noted that, the State would identify vulnerable Communities where the Authority’s boreholes would be needed urgently, so that the State can reap the benefit on time.
Also on ground to receive  the Authority’s delegation  is the Permanent Secretary, Lagos  Ministry of Agriculture  Dr Olayiwola Onasanya and others.
