Ogun NAWOJ commemorate Breastfeeding week
The Nigeria Association of women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ogun state chapter is joining the WHO and UNICEF on promoting counseling on skilled breastfeeding as a critical and crucial part of breastfeeding process as the world marks 2020 World breastfeeding week August 1-8
A statement jointly signed by the chairperson Modupeola Sobukonla and the Secretary Oluwakemi Orunsolu appealed to government at all levels to promote and support exclusive breastfeeding as the benefits outweigh the risks.
The association frowned at any act that may interfere with the optimal breastfeeding such as introducing substitute for breastfeeding before six months.
The Association therefore pledges her support to counseling of women and encouraging them in nurturing an excellent children for a better society.
The theme for this year is ‘support breastfeeding for healthier planet’
