Ogun Halts Mining Activities Around Electric Towers

The Ogun State Government has ordered stoppage of mining activities around electric towers in the State, particularly along Shimawa road in Sagamu Local Government Area.

The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, who gave the order in Abeokuta, disclosed that mining around such structure, if left unchecked, could lead to their collapse, thereby endangering lives and causing power outrage.

He warned that Government would not fold its arms and allow illegality in the State, warning that anyone caught flouting the order, would face the full wrath of the law, assuring that the State government would intensify its monitoring activities of mining sites, to put an end to the nefarious activities across the State.
