Ogun FRSC Crash Report Along Lagos – Ibadan Expressway.

The fatal crash involved multiple of 6 vehicles: comprising

Suspected causes of the multiple crash was Wrongful Overtaking caused by excessive Speed inappropriate for the construction zone
The injured victims were rescued to Victory Hospital Ogere for medical attention.

The corpses of the killed victims were deposited at the FOS morgue Ipara.
Thereafter the obstruction was cleared to restore traffic .

The FRSC Ogun State Sector Commander commiserated with the families of the crash victims. He also informed them that they can contact the FRSC Command in Ogere or the medical facilities mentioned above for additional information on the crash
.
The Sector Commander is once again admonishing Motorists to remember that the entire strech of the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway is a construction zone and motorists should therefore endevsour to respect traffic regulations regarding construction zones ,where speed should not exceed 50 kilometers per hour and overtaking is also prohibited at diversion points. These construction areas on the Lagos – Ibadan road are specifically around OgunMakin and Ogere, where the construction company RCC diverted traffic and also between Mowe and Ibafo where the construction company, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc ,also diverted traffic for rehabilitation of the corridor .

The Sector Commander further advised passengers to caution their drivers and those not adhering to the above mentioned construction rules, should be promptly reported to the Federal Road Safety Corps through the FRSC toll free number 122.
