The first female Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Honourable Titi Oseni-Gomez, has joined the senatorial race of Ogun Central Senatorial District in the forthcoming general elections

Just as she defected from her former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Oseni-Gomez who was the Speaker of the Assembly from 2003 to 2008, declared her intention to run the race to service her people.
The former lawmaker said she had to take her leave from PDP after wide consultations, following the intractable crisis rocking the party for almost 10 years.
She described her new party as “a party  committed to unity; good governance and equal  opportunity.
“After series of consultations across political circles and associates, discussions with leaders, elders and good people of my senatorial district, critical reflection within my family and my personal conviction, I have decided to join forces with the reformists by pitching my tent with the African Democratic Congress.
“I decided to move to the ADC as a renewed and reinvigorated political party that can reverse the persistent disappointments in the polity and free the people from the present political system that was built on untruths and propaganda.”
She was received into the party by a leader of the party and former state chairman of the PDP,  Elder Joju Fadairo, alongside with the governorship aspirant of ADC and former governorship candidate of PDP, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka.
The erstwhile Speaker promised adequate representation for the people of Ogun Central if given the opportunity to serve, adding that her wealth of experience in the political field would further guide her.
She enjoined citizens of the state to get registered and collect their Permanent Voter Card (PVC) so as to effect the necessary change that they desired.
