Oba Ogunleye Receives Global Peace Ambassador Award
The traditional ruler of Akinale of Owu Kingdom in Egbaland, Oba Olufemi Adewunmi Ogunleye, has been awarded Global Peace Ambassador and admitted a Doctoral Fellow of the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management.
With the investiture ceremony which took place in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory(FCT), the royal father is expected to strengthen his responsibility in monitoring and keeping Peace globally.
The President of the Institute, Dr Adetunberu Oludotun, represented by his Vice, Dr.Nworgu Okey-Theodore, at the ceremony said Ogunleye has been recognised for his professional conduct and demonstrated commitment to Peace building, tolerance and Conflict Resolution in his community, State and Nigeria.
The traditional ruler who besides being a lawyer and law academician, is a chartered mediator, fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, using his background as a journalist and public relations icon to engage in peace and conflict resolution in his domain and in Ogun State in general.
The Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management, approved by the Federal ministries of Education and Justice is an affiliate of United States of America Interglobal University, Somalia/USA and has been involved in training and advocacy in peace keeping and Conflict resolution in Nigeria and beyond.
