NYSC anthem composer Adetiran dies at 74
The composer of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) anthem, Dr Oluwole Adetiran, is dead.
He was 74.
Last year, Adetiran explained that he had been inflicted with multiple diseases, including hypertension, diabetes and prostate cancer since 2018
Adediran, who studied music at University of Nigeria, Nsuka, recalled that he composed the anthem while serving as a corps member in Oyo State.
Before his demise, the NYSC anthem composer was the National Music Director of Celestial Church of Christ (CCC).
Last year, NYSC Director-General Brig.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim led a high-powered delegation of the scheme to the residence of Adetiran at Ibafo in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun and pledged that Adetiran’s photograph would be conspicuously placed in the newly-built NYSC museum in Abuja.
