NIEEE to hold ICEPT 2022; OBJ, Abiodun to Grace Occasion

The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), has announced its annual international conference and exhibition on power and telecommunications (ICEPT) with the theme “Professionalism and Standardization in rapidly Evolving industries” scheduled to hold October 10 – 14, 2022 at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State

The Chairman, Conference Planning Committee, Engr. Felix Olu, FNIEEE in a statement said the conference is expected to be flagged off by Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, while Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun is the Special Guest of Honour.

Others expected at the event includes Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako – Oyedele, Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, HRM Oba Dr. Adedotun Gbadebo, CFR, (Okukenu IV); Past Presidents of Nigerian Society of Engineers, President-elect, World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), Engr Mustafa Balarabe Shehu, FNSE, President Nigerian Academy of Engineering, Engr Ifeoluwa Oyedele, Executive Director (Networks) Niger Delta Power Holding Company among others.

The statement highlights activities lined up for the ICEPT 2022 to include; World Standard Day and Induction of new corporate members on Monday 10th Oct, Opening Ceremony, Technical and Plenary sessions and Gala Night on Tuesday 11th Oct, Technical Sessions and Fellowship Conferment of distinguished Engineers on Wednesday 12th Oct and Abeokuta City tour to Olumo Rock and Adire mall, 28th Annual General Meeting of the Institute where the new nationals officers will be elected on Thursday 13th October.

ICEPT Local organizing Committee Chairman and Chairman NIEEE Abeokuta, Engr. Olumayowa Idowu, FNIEEE says preparations are in top gear as the Chapter is ready to host the best ICEPT ever in the history of the Institute with Abeokuta being the home of hospitality.

This flagship event which started in 2005 is a convergence of academia, regulatory and industry experts that is usually graced by top dignitaries to proffer professional solutions to prevailing issues.

The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) was established in 1984 as a group of COREN registered Electrical Engineers. The professional body has 38 Chapters across the country with thousands of professionals in all the specialties of Electrical and Electronics Engineering sub-disciplines.
