#Ogun Investors Forum 2018The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has again bring to the fore, the role of the Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs) in the industrial drive of the State, describing them as pivotal and complementary to the multinationals and developmental efforts of his administration.
Governor Amosun who stated this during a press conference heralding the Investors’ Forum in Abeokuta, with the theme: ‘’Consolidating the Gains, Accelerating Growth,’’ said government would narrow its scope to three major areas, which include agriculture, industry and technology. The Ogun Investors Forum is scheduled to hold between Tuesday March 20 – Wednesday March 21, 2018 at June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto Abeokuta by 9am daily
He maintained that the administration was working towards leaving behind a system driven economy which would benefit the State and make her the envy of all, adding that, this underscored why his administration would not rest on its oars at creating enabling environment for business to thrive.
Speaking further on the choice of the theme, the State’s helmsman submitted that ‘’we want to consolidate on the gains we have, we are moving from agriculture to agribusiness, we want to have employable youths and work smart.’’
Earlier in her welcome address, Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Ms. Adenrele Adeshina noted that the State’s potentials could be more harnessed through its collaboration and partnership with all stakeholders, saying, the investors’ forum was a platform to engage them in developing the economy of the State.
‘’Ogun State has a vast economic potential and unique opportunities in Nigeria context, this opportunities can be fully tapped through collaboration and partnership with stakeholders.’’
In his remark, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Bimbo Ashiru, stated that the State, rated 35 by the World Bank in 2011 in terms of ‘’ease of doing business in Nigeria’’ was recently ranked as one of the best four in the country, assuring that the success would be maintained.
