GOVERNMENTS OF OGUN AND OYO STATES MEET OVER LAND DISPUTE.

Governments of Ogun and Oyo States have intensified efforts towards amicable settlement of boundary between the two states.

The Commissioners for Justice and Attorney Generals from the two states, Dr. Olumide Ayeni and Mr. Olusegun Abimbola exchanged memoranda as part of the process during a meeting in Ibadan.

The exchange of memorandum was borne out of the joint decision of the Deputy Governors of Ogun and Oyo States to set up technical committee to work into the lingering issues regarding boundary disputes between the states with view of resolving them

The committee resolved to present memoranda in which each party will put into writing its position in order to find a common ground and put the matter to rest permanently.

They urged the communities within the disputed areas to maintain peace and order. The parties have however agreed to meet with a way of articulating areas of agreement on the 28th of November 2017 in Abeokuta
