Abiodun Hails Awujale’s 62-Year reign

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has congratulated the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Ogbagba II on the 62nd anniversary of his coronation.
Commending the Royal Father, whose reign clocked 62 this Saturday,  the Governor extolled the monarch’s commitment to peace, security and development, not only in Ijebuland but the Nation at large.
In a congratulatory message,  Governor Abiodun described Oba Adetona as a wise, quintessential and charming monarch whose contributions to the nation’s quest for  peace, unity and development will come of for noble mention by historians.
“I join the rest of Ijebu people at home and abroad to felicitate His Majesty on the 62nd anniversary of his assumption of the royal office. We are proud of His Majesty who has been a pillar of support for our administration at the State and National levels.
“I commend Baba’s efforts to, not only spread dividends of democracy, but to also mobilise the people behind government’s proactive measures, policies and programmes and for his personal initiatives to strengthen communal peace, development and security.
“The government profoundly appreciates Kabiyesi’s personal sacrifices and contributions to growth of the State and in uniting the people.
“I thank God for the grace of long life for Baba and pray that the  Almighty will continue to grant His Royal Majesty good health on the throne of his forebears”, the statement said.
Governor Abiodun urged Oba Adetona, whom he described as “a great monarch”,  to continue to be a unifier and nationalist who works with other patriots to strengthen the unity of the country through his statesmanly interventions and advocacy.
