The social media was thrown into a frenzy when the rumour of the death of music legend, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi went viral on Saturday.
However, the renowned musician was quick to debunk the rumour and the spread of panic mostly among high profile Nigerians, saying he is alive and strong.
It was gathered from a reliable source that the musician-turned-cleric received the rumour of his death after taken Custard and fried croacker fish for launch at his Lagos State residence.
“I heard the rumour doing the rounds about me. It is a big lie and I am quite okay. The Lord has kept me for a purpose and I must fulfil that purpose. So, all about me is in the hands of God and my time is not yet now and the Lord will keep me to fulfil His assignment.
“I dey ‘kampe’ and there is nothing wrong with me. I am surprised with the rumour too and I don’t know where it came from. I have been receiving several calls from family, friends and associate and even high profile Nigerians. I want to tell people not to express worry about the rumour because I am fine and active,” he added.
Nigerian Tribune also gathered that the fans of the music icon around the world have since reacted expressing their views on the widely described malicious news as well as prayed in numerous ways for the musician through various social media platforms for a more healthy life.
