COREN Cancelled 2020 Annual Engineering Assembly; Plans Virtual Event

The Council for the regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN, has announced the cancellation of the 2020 Annual COREN Engineering Assembly.

The announcement was made by the Registrar of the Council, Prof Joseph Odigure in a press statement.

The event which was earlier scheduled for August 10-12, 2020 was cancelled due to “COVID – 19 Pandemic and the consequent lockdown.”

“It is with deepest regret that we announce the cancellation of the event due to pandemic situation and need to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all.” He said .

He thanked those who have pre-registered and added that, “Any Engineering Practitioner that has paid can ask for a refund with evidence of remita payments and account details (account name, account number, account type, and sort code).”

Further announcement will be made in due course on other plans for virtual events by the Council.

The COREN Engineering Assembly is the biggest gathering of all Engineering Professionals in Nigeria. It holds every year with participants including engineers, technologists, technicians, craftsmen and other stakeholders in engineering and built professionals from all walks of life.

The Assembly enables participants to interact with each other, examine issues affecting Engineering and ways to move the practice of the profession forward.

February 2020 certificates are now ready for collection

Engineering Practitioners who sat for any COREN Professional Interview up to February 2020 or Applied Direct via (NSE) are to note that their certificate, stamp seals are ready for collection at COREN Head Office Abuja.

Successful candidates are expected to:

1- For 2020 Council approval, pay the full Registration fees and upload “Acceptance and Declaration Letters.

2- For 2019 Council Approvals, ensue your Practicing fees are up-to-date.

3- for those intending to collect their certificates, they should proceed to COREN Head Office in Abuja for collection with a Means of identification or send someone with a letter of Authority to collect on their Behalf.
4. Security Seals (paper) September and December 2019 set are ready
6. All iron stamps are NOT ready (2019 till date)
