Communities Told To Explore Initiative Towards Education Development

Ogun State Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Gbenga Adenmosun, has urged communities to embrace initiatives that would further develop education and enhance academic performance of students in their domains.

Adenmosun made this known in his welcome address at the second edition of the quiz competition, organised by New Glory Area Community Development Committee (ACDC), Ogijo, for students in primary, junior and senior secondary schools in the community.

He said the theme of the programme ‘’’the future starts now’’, could not have been more apt, admonishing other community associations to emulate such projects, as it seeks to secure the future of Nigeria, adding that government cannot do it alone, therefore, all concerned must team up to ensure provision of qualitative education.

Also speaking, the Ologijo of Ogijo, Oba Kazeem Gbadamosi, enjoined parents to pay more attention to their children and not take their education with levity, noting that, they are tomorrow’s leader.

The Chairman of the New Glory ACDC, Prince Kolapo Adenuga expressed delight at the success of the programme, saying the ACDC had to deviate a little from infrastructural development, to help the children by supporting education, which is the bedrock of any nation’s growth and development.

Adenuga implored the children to be steadfast in their studies, so as to attain the pinnacle of formal education, adding that the competition would be a yearly event, while encouraging well-meaning citizens to join hands in taking education to an enviable standard.

The winners of the competition made away with scholarships, cash prices and other gift items, as rewards for their excellent performances.
