Buhari hosts ex-Ghanaian leader Mahama

President Muhammadu Buhari hosted former Ghanaian President, Mr, Dramani Mahama, to a private dinner on Thursday night at the state House.

Born on 29 November 1958, Mahama served as President of Ghana from 24 July 2012 to 7 January 2017.

He previously served as Vice President of Ghana from 2009 to 2012, and took office as President on 24 July 2012 following the death of his predecessor, John Atta Mills.

Aside being a politician, Mahama is a communication expert, historian, and writer.

He was a Member of Parliament from 1997 to 2009 and Minister of Communications from 1998 to 2001.

He is a member of the National Democratic Congress.

Mahama is the first vice president to have ascended to the presidency due to the death of his predecessor.
