Amosun, Obasanjo, Abubakar, Others Eulogise Late Abraham Adesanya

The Late Afenifere and National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) Chieftain, Pa Abraham Adesanya, has been described as a great nationalist and patriot who fought for the unity and progress of western region and Nigeria as a whole.

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, stated this at the 10th Memorial Symposium, titled ‘’Leadership and the Future of Nigeria’’, organised in honour of the late elder Statesman, held in Lagos, noting that, Pa Adesanya was one of the incorruptible Nigerians, who struggled for the country’s democracy.

The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanauga, said Pa Adesanya was an industrious son of the State, whose contributions to national development could not be quantified, calling on other Afenifere chieftains to uphold the legacies he left behind.

Chairman of the occasion and former Head of State, General Abdulsalam Abubakar, noted that Senator Adesanya was a liberal man, full of principles and ideas, saying that they had a good relationship till his death.

In their remarks, former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former Commonwealth Secretary General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, former Military Administrator, Rivers State, General Zamani Lekwot, Senator Banji Akintoye and Dr. (Mrs.) Doyinsola Abiola, said Adesanya was a political activist, who used all his political career to ‘”right all wrongs”.

Earlier in her address, the daughter of the late sage, Mrs. Dupe Adelaja, revealed that her late father was a selfless man who valued humanity, hated injustice and a fearless and courageous fighter.
