Amosun Mourns Onabule

Former Ogun State Governor and Ogun West Senator, Ibikunle Amosun has mourned the passing of the late veteran journalist and Ex Spokesperson to former Military Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida, Chief Duro Onabule on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at the age of 83

In a statement, Senator Amosun, while condoling with the former Head of State, Gen. Babangida, and the Nigerian Union of Journalists, described Chief Duro Onabule as a foremost journalist who contributed immensely to the growth of journalism and the development of our nation.

The former Governor noted that Chief Onabule discharged himself creditably well in all areas of his journalism practice, adding that his objective and analytical contributions to issues of national importance will be sorely missed.

“He was a successful journalist who exhibited hard work, professionalism, and candor during his meritorious career as a reporter for the Daily Express, London correspondent of the Express, deputy editor of Daily Times, editor of Concord newspaper, a columnist in The Sun Newspapers, and the Presidential Spokesman to the then Nigeria’s Head of State, Gen. Babangida, among others.

Senator Amosun prayed that the Almighty God will grant the renowned journalist eternal rest, and give his children, grandchildren and the entire Onabule family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
