Ogun SUBEB emphasises Infrastructural improvement in Basic Schools

In a quest to actualise its set objectives on basic education, as well as drive it to meet global standard, the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has reiterated its commitments to the rehabilitation of infrastructures in primary schools across the State.

The Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Olatunde Okewole, who stated this during the monitoring exercise on the resumption of 2018/2019 academic session, to public primary schools in the State, said education was a huge investment, which the State Government ensure that its people have access to, assuring that government would continue to address challenges confronting the sector, as it was set to renovate all schools across the State.

The SUBEB boss disclosed that logistics had been put in place by the Board, to ensure proper maintenance of new school facilities provided by the government, just as ongoing rehabilitation of school structures, are nearing completion.

‘‘There has been a lot of neglect for some years and there is no way we can catch-up overnight. The ones we are doing presently are the evidences of development’’, he submitted.

Okewole urged well meaning individuals, as well as corporate bodies, to support government in repositioning the sector, adding that government alone could not shoulder the responsibilities.

He expressed satisfaction with the turnout of teachers and pupils, urging parents and guardians, to always place priority on the future of their children.
