Ogun Community Leaders Tasked On Maintenance Of Law And Order

Ogun State Government has called on community leaders to always ensure that law and order are maintained in their various communities noting that, it would not condone actions that could disturb existing peace in the State.

Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon, Gbenga Adenmosun, made the call at a 4-day citizenship and leadership training, organized for community leaders at Shosha, Iperu-Remo, and Ogun State.

Adenmosun, who emphasised that no society could develop without peace, cautioned the community leaders against collecting illegal levies from prospective house owners as he equally frowned at reports of threats on their property, noting that, such act was liable in the court of law, as he urged them to deploy dialogue in dealing with the issue.

He further admonished community leaders who participated at the training to encourage people in their communities to engage in environmental sanitation to ensure healthy living.

Also speaking at the event, his counterpart in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, encouraged participants to join hands with government to make sure that the State remain number one in terms of creating investment opportunities, adding that, this could be achieved when people pay their taxes.

Speaking on behalf of other participants, the Chairman, Ogun State Council for Community Development, Alhaji Rasaq Ikupoliyi, promised to put what they have learnt at the training into practice for the betterment of their various communities.
