Ogun Inauguration Activities: Cultural Night

As part of the inauguration activities for the incoming administration of Ogun State, a Cultural Night was held yesterday at June 12 Cultural Center in Kuto, Abeokuta.


The event attracted many of Ogun home grown artists and entertainers whose major preoccupation is to promote arts and culture through their profession among whom was Uncle Jimi Solanke, a Veteran folk singer.
The atmosphere was fully charged and audience were thrilled with the sound of traditional rhythms which led to so much excitement and joy. Participants were drawn from the three Senatorial Districts.


While addressing the gathering, Ogun Governor Elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR restated his resolve to create a cultural village for arts and entertainment, where talented young people in Ogun State will be able to study and become professionals in this field. The initiative which will be first of its kind across the country, will also serve as a tourist attraction site to visitors.


The event was well attended by dignitaries like the Former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Former Deputy Governor, Prince Segun Adesegun, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo CFR, and other notable traditional rulers across the state.


Culture is a way of life in a society and tourism is the vehicle through which this way of life is appreciated. The Incoming Administration promise to do everything that is required to promote the arts and culture sector in Ogun State.
