Nigerian Television Authority Abeokuta Sets for 40th Anniversary
The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abeokuta has concluded arrangements in rolling out the drums with series of activities lined up to celebrate its 40th anniversary with kick off of the ceremony scheduled for October 12, with Health Walk.
Penpushing reports that, the Chairman, Anniversary Committee, Alhaja Azeezat Akinsola and Olumayowa Idowu (Secretary) in a statement said a novelty match is also scheduled to hold on Tuesday, October 15 between the station and Ogun State Television(OGTV) by 4pm at Moshood Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta.
The statement added that the major highlight of the celebration is the 40th anniversary lecture with the topic, ’Lens and Sound: Television as a tool for Social Re-orientation and Good Governance’ to be delivered Prof Oluyemisi Obilade, former Vice Chancellor Tai Solarin University of Education(TASUED), Ijebu-Ode on October 17 at the Station headquarters in Abeokuta.
Penpushing further reports that, the statement said, a Special Jumat Service comes up on Friday, October 18 at Central Mosques, Kobiti, Abeokuta by 1pm, as well as a Thanksgiving Service on October 20 at Cathedral Church of St Peters, Ake, Abeokuta by 10am.
The release said the event will be rounded off with a visit to the historic Olumo rock on Sunday October 20, while dignitaries coming for the grand finale of the ceremony include; Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, Director General, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mallam Yakubu Ibn Muhammed as the Chief Host and Maiyegun of Egbaland, Chief Olatunde Abudu among others
