News Flash: Road Accident Claims 5, 4 Critically Injured in Ogun

At least five passengers are feared dead while four others are in critical condition following a road accident Thursday morning along Mowe/Ibafo axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) Babatunde Akinbiyi  says the accident occurred when the driver of a Toyota bus with nine passengers coming from Lagos was trying to manoeuvre a broken truck along the highway, but allegedly got his steering locked and rammed into the truck.

He said the injured have been taken to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention while bodies of the deceased have been deposited at a private morgue in the area.

The statement added that wreckage of the vehicle has been cleared off the road, thereby restoring free flow of traffic along the ever busy expressway.
