7 Killed, 11 Injured in Auto Crash Along Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway

No fewer than Seven people have been confirmed dead in an auto crash which occurred on Monday, January 3, 2022 along Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway

Eye witness account revealed that the Mitsubishi Cabster with registration number XS595JJJ was trying to negotiate a turning without observing the road and crashed on  another Mazda Bus coming with top speed on its lane.

The statement adds that Six persons were initially confirmed dead while thirteen other passengers were injured. However one of the injured passengers later died making the number of those who lost their lives to rise to seven and Eleven injured as confirmed by the Police.

The dead bodies were later recovered and deposited at the morgue while the injured were rushed to the State Hospital, Abeokuta for medical attention by the men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC.

A total of 38 persons were involved in the crash, 20 male adults, 13 female adults, 3 male children and two female children.

The TRACE Corps while commiserating with the bereaved families warned motorists to desist from driving against the traffic and avoid excessive speeding in view of its attendant consequences
